This allows children to explore the environment while learning about sustainability. Through this activity, children learn about what worms need to survive while exploring a new eco-system and the world of the worms.
As part of our regular educational programs, each day, the children collect scraps within their rooms from lunch and cooking classes.
These scraps are then used to feed to the worms and to also place on the compost heap.
The Benefits of Farm Activities for Children
When children have contact with animals in their daily lives, it sparks their curiosity and gives them a valuable opportunity to appreciate their natural environment. Observing and interacting with animals can be a valuable part of your child’s education and can enrich their learning. We love seeing children develop bonds with the animals and to develop their empathy and kindness as they feed, pat, and interact with the animals on our hobby farm.
